Balenciaga Brand History and Origin

Balenciaga is a luxury fashion house founded in 1919 by the Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga in San Sebastian, Spain and bought afterwards by French luxury group Kering. Balenciaga had a reputation as a couturier of uncompromising standards and was called "the master of us all" by Christian Dior.

His bubble skirts and odd, feminine, yet "modernistic" silhouettes became the trademarks of the house. His work was described as equal to sculpture, architecture and objet d’art in its precision and allure. Despite all this, the maven closed his Paris maison in 1968, before passing away four years later aged 77. The fashion house remained silent for almost two decades, before a new wave of designers were employed, in quick succession, to transport the brand into the 21st century.

With the advent of new forms of footwear, particularly the sock sneaker, Balenciaga released the Speed Sock and Balenciaga Triple S that attracted much attention amongst influencers and fashionistas alike.

Balenciaga Shoes Design & Style

Balenciaga Speed sneakers are polupar amongst influencers and fashionistas alike. Balenciaga describes the sneakers as elevating the sock-like construction of performance athletic footwear alongside an oversized articulated sole to establish a sporty and “forward-looking” profile.

Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia is the current designer of Balenciaga (alongside Vetements), stating that his approach to the brand is to deconstruct something in order to create something else -“destruct to create.”He cites his work pattern to be influenced by sportswear aesthetics, particularly focusing on the modernity of comfort, functionality and technicality to create an aesthetically pleasing image.

Balenciaga Sneaker Quality - Material & Durability

In terms of material, Balenciaga Speed Trainers are made of a 10-millimeter arch and composed of 80% Polyamide material (a stretch-knit upper) and 20% Elasthanne (a white rubber sole). The rubber sole is created with the brand's special memory sole technology, and inside you'll find a sockliner that should be made of terry cloth. The terry cloth's looped pile adds an extra level of comfort.

  • Burberry Review

Burberry Brand History and Origin

Burberry is a British luxury fashion house headquartered in London, England. Established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, originally focusing on the development of outdoor attire, the house has moved into the high fashion market, developing gabardine, and products made exclusively for the brand. It's also one of the most distinctive, thanks to its trademark check pattern that makes it instantly recognizable. The brand has defined elegance and class for decades, although its history goes back quite a bit further than most people know.

It currently designs and distributes ready to wear including trench coats (for which it is most famous), leather goods, trainers, fashion accessories, eyewear, fragrances, and cosmetics. Burberry has stores in 59 countries.

Burberry Shoes Design & Style

Burberry is recognizable worldwide for its quality, elegance, and their famous Burberry check fabric. The most popular Burberry Arthur sneaker is a fusion of heritage and streetwear. Aesthetically, the Arthur sneakers are a perfect summation of these qualities. They're the perfect combination of chic, sporty, and functional.

The Arthur sneakers are capped with a matte overshoe inspired by rain boots and have a cross-detailed tread referencing the iconic Burberry check. For both men and women, the shoes also come in a number of different colors and patterns, like a chic brown leather, the TB monogram print, and, of course, a few variations of the classic Burberry check. These sneakers are certain to outlast any short lived fads or trends and will quickly become your favorite pair of sneakers in the closet.

Burberry Sneaker Quality - Material & Durability

Made with care in Italy, the Burberry Arthur sneakers go above and beyond being just the aesthetic choice. Unlike many luxury sneakers on the market these days, the Arthur sneakers are shoes that will actually last. They're made to withstand rain, snow, hail or whatever else nature decides to throw at you. And because of their traction and tread, they're less slippery than the common sneaker.

With their rain boot-like quality, It's the type of sneaker that will last you for years to come, staying stylish and versatile throughout – in many ways making them an anti-fast fashion sneaker.

  • Gucci Review

Gucci Brand History and Origin

Gucci is an Italian fashion label founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, making it one of the oldest Italian fashion brands in operation today. Like many historic fashion houses, the brand started out as a luggage manufacturer, producing luxury travel goods for Italy's wealthy upper-classes, as well as equestrian equipment.

The trend of designer trainers and sneakers has been around forever but it has really caught the momentum in the last few years with all major fashion houses like Gucci also throwing their weight behind comfort shoes reimagined as luxury footwear. Led by its current creative director, Alessandro Michele, Gucci has established a two-pronged approach to its sneaker strategy, combining classic Gucci silhouettes such as the Ace,Tennis 1977, or Gucci Ace GG with more fashion-forward designs such as the Rhyton or Flashtrek.

Gucci Shoes Prices: Sneaker $630 - $1120; Moccasins and Loafers: $850- $1250; Slides & Sandals: $320 - $1050; Boots and Ankle boots: $790 -$4900; Slippers and Mules: $490 - $2800; Ballet Flats: $790 -$890.

Gucci Shoes Design & Style

Gucci Ace sneakers became an overnight success ever since they were first introduced in 2016. Gucci sneakers are known for their use of red and green detailing, as well as intricate animal embroidery and bold logo placement. The retro style looks to classic detailing that catches eyes but doesn't scream for attention.

The sneakers feature a white, buffed leather upper with a round toe. Three velcro straps replace the customary lacing, while a padded tongue and collar provide extra comfort. Green and red heel tabs are joined by an oversized logo printed across the arch in gray, yellow, and red. A treaded rubber sole completes the look. The range now has expanded far beyond the classic “bee” design to incorporate more bold accents such as spikes, sequins and seasonal prints.

Gucci Sneaker Quality - Material & Durability

Gucci Ace sneakers are popular and cool looking, but they are a completely different breed to a standard pair of sneakers. Beautiful crafted with intricate detail and finish, their purpose is to stand out and bedazzle rather serve a purely practical purpose.

These sneakers are genuine leather and do have to be broken in a bit. You should wear them extended periods of time and then will find them comfortable.

It is very hard for Gucci shoes to get irreparable damage. Given the quality of craftsmanship that the designers use, any good cobbler can repair Gucci shoes, or rather the wearer can decide to send them to Gucci for repair services.
