Goyard was founded in Paris in 1853, just one year ahead of the more widely known Louis Vuitton. The luxury brand originally specialised in boxes, trunks and packing for the French aristocracy. The house's existence under the name Maison Martin (after founder Pierre-François Martin) dates back to 1792, and renamed it in 1853.
Low-key and luxurious, Goyard is one of the most discreetly recognised designer brands in the world. The brand doesn't advertise, list products on its website or speak to the media, and you'll never see a splashy Goyard product launch or fashion week party.

The brand was re-established with timeless elegance, craftsmanship and exclusivity. The first function of the emblematic Saint Louis tote upon its creation was to be a beach tote. Despite its apparent simplicity, the Saint Louis tote hides a lot of refined details which make it the perfect everyday companion. It has two Chevroches calfskin handles which become progressively thicker. Thus, you can carry the bag in different styles: by hand, around the shoulder or in the crook of the arm. It comes with its emblematic removable pouch attached to one of the handles of the bag. It has a snap button closing system.
Material & Durability
Entirely made in unlined supple Goyardine canvas allowing for lightness, the Saint Louis tote is completely reversible. Goyardine is a dyed textile, which consists of cotton, linen and hemp and is subsequently coated and thus made resistant. Goyardine canvas can be put on the inside for wet clothes to be stored in without damaging the linen and cotton interior of the bag.

The two are almost identical in size with the St. Louis being a little bigger with a shorter strap drop. As far as little details, the St. Louis comes with a cute detachable pouch for storing essentials. You can also get your initials monogrammed or stripes if you're willing to pay extra.
The newer Neverfull comes with a detachable pouch. Some extra details of the bag are the cinchers at the sides which let you tuck the ends in as well as the clasp at the top to keep the bag slightly more closed. Whereas the St. Louis is one single compartment, the Neverfull has a zip pocket on the inside. Monogramming and stripes are also available at extra cost.
The LV Neverfull MM is thicker and heavier than the Goyard St Louis PM. The trade off with the Goyard is lighter and thinner, but less durable than LV. One major complaint about the St. Louis is corner wear. Goyard can put leather reinforcement on the corners, but you have to pay extra and send it in.

Like the Goyard St. Louis, the Neverfull has ample amounts of space and boasts a resilient canvas material that is nearly impervious to scratches and damage. For day trips or as a carry-on, any Neverfull size would suffice. With a neutral palette, the Neverfull is somewhat more elegant and formal than the Goyard, especially in Epi Leather. Discrete and refined, it's the perfect bag to store in coat-check before an event without looking out of place.Rather than bringing it along to the beach, the Neverfull would be more appropriate for a weekend getaway to New York City, or a work trip. I think It win the battle.
Longchamp Le Pliage Tote
For young adults, Le Pliage is among the affordable yet high-quality bags that are a first designer purchase; for people far into their careers, its size makes it ideal for carting supplies to work or travel necessities on the road. Do note though that the place the Le Pliage does tend to wear the most is on the very corners of the bag. A well loved Longchamp will experience some corner fraying. And another con of the Le Pliage is that this is a very casual bag. While the Neverfull can go from cubicle to dinner, the Le Pliage can sometimes be too casual for a night on the town after work.
