A year after adding Flamin' Hot Nacho to a plethora of Doritos flavors, we found this bag with a largely similar look. The front Dorito is still on fire, but most of the bag has changed from red to green, with a slice of lime next to the burning Dorito.
We opened the bag to find a redder take on the standard Doritos colors, with some areas light orange, but the parts with seasoning being very intensely red rather than bright orange, much like Flamin' Hot Nacho.
We started out trying to find a mild flavor, fairly typical of Doritos, but it wasn't long before the heat and lime hit. It's hot and flavorful, especially if you like lime.
Not the hottest chip, but very hot as Doritos go.

When it comes to the preferred Doritos flavor, spiciness absolutely reigns supreme, and Poppin' Jalapeño is no exception!
The bag is green, but the chips are a classic yellow-orange look like Nacho Cheese Doritos.
Toppings for Poppin' Jalapeno Doritos include jalapeños, romano cheese, cheddar cheese, and a bunch of familiar spices like garlic and onion powder. Outside of the jalapenos, these are the same ingredients in Nacho Cheese Doritos, just in different ratios based on their placement on the ingredient list.
It must be said that it is very cheesy but tastes great.
Poppin' Jalapeño Doritos doesn't smell that spicy, but when you bite into it, it produces a real roasted jalapeño flavor. But it doesn't have a long aftertaste, and the spice level is weak - just a slight itch in the throat.
In terms of heat, it's moderately hot and doesn't actually match the heat of Jalapeno.
The more chips you eat, the more the heat builds up, but I wouldn't say these are especially spicy or anything. Maybe this will be a good jalapeno chip to take to the office to reduce damage to those around you.
Hot in a unique way that really sneaks up on you, this flavor is really geared toward spicy food aficionados.

The name "Blaze" should give you an idea of how hot these Doritos are. Unlike Flamas chips, these chips have had success with Doritos' spicy flavor. It's kind of crazy that Frito-Lay didn't really bring Doritos heat until 2018.
In the "hot and spicy" line, the first flavor is just "Doritos Blaze". There's no other name for it but the packaging touts "It's like licking a volcano," and claims "amped up fiery heat." Ingredients include tomato powder and jalapeno pepper powder among others.
That said, all the heat that Flamin' Hot Nacho Doritos lacks can be found in Doritos' Blaze. In fact, you might think you're ready to taste, but be sure to have a glass of milk on hand.
Not for the faint of heart, this snack packs the heat and then some. Even those devoted to spice will shed a few tears.
Open a bag of Doritos Blaze chips, and your sinuses are all but cleared. The smell of Doritos is strong.
Doritos Blaze chips are in stores, joining red Nacho Cheese and blue Cool Ranch as a staple flavor. They come in a dark purple bag (which seems to be a nod to the other two flavors) decked out with flames and thermograph handprints.
But if you are an extreme spicy eater, you may not think it is as spicy as advertised, for the average person, it is enough.

Even though the title lists "Buffalo" first, the buffalo flavor of these chips isn't overly overt, but plenty of ranch flavor. They're more for those who love Cool Ranch Doritos but are looking for a little more excitement.
Just like Flamin' Hot Nacho Dorito, these chips that carry a rich flavor will leave your fingers covered in red powder.
Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch chips are also closer to Cool Ranch in color, with just a hint of red. Another Jacked Ranch Dipped Hot Wings chip contains a lot of red powder.
Not too spicy. Although the sodium content is consistent with other Doritos, it tastes extra salty. After eating a bag, you may be drinking 16 ounces of water at a record rate.

However, this flavor from a few years ago was more suitable for advanced spicy eaters, and they were actually a little hotter than these chips today. They were the boldest, wildest Doritos ever produced by Frito-Lay.
Unfortunately, now that they've been watered down, they may still be one of Frito-Lay's hottest flavors, but they're easily eaten up a lot compared to some of the other spicy and hot brands.
The texture is standard Doritos, but also has a healthy dose of jalapeno heat. Salsa Verde Doritos were indeed a huge success as they are still present in most food and retail stores today.
Some people even like to crush these chips and sprinkle them on tortilla or burrito bowls for a crispy texture and spicy flavor.

Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nachos were released in early 2018. The chips quickly gained popularity for their spicy flavor, and became one of the most popular flavors of Doritos.
On Flamin’s Chee Hottos, you’d find a spicy dust coating the chips. On these chips, the dust is similar to what you’d find in Flamin’s Chee Hottos. It is possible to enjoy both spicy and cheesy flavors at the same time with this product.
The chips are a bright red color, and there is a significant kick at the end. It tastes slightly similar to a nacho chip’s flavor when first crunched, but it tastes a little more intense. The heat persists for quite some time after the kick is finished, and the final kick is even hotter. Spice is best consumed in moderation.
Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho chips have a Scoville rating of 2,500 to 5,000 units. This means that they are quite hot, but not the hottest Doritos chips available.

The Jacked Ranch Dipped Hot Wings flavor of Doritos does sound like some of the other flavors, but it reaches another level. This version of the tortilla chips features a combination of the spicy flavor associated with hot wings along with the beloved ranch dressing.
They also have a Blazin' Buffalo & Ranch that puts two flavors on one chip, and Hot Wings doesn't seem like a big leap from Buffalo Wings.
The main difference here is that they took the standard Doritos recipe and made the chips thicker and bigger (and said to be bolder).
When opening the bag, we were struck by the brightness and size of the orange-red chips. The isosceles triangles had two sides measuring over 3-1/2 inches, and the other one was just over 3 inches.
We crunched in to find that they were thicker and had a harder crunch than non-Jacked Doritos, and they tasted great.
There was a reasonably strong level of heat, tempered a bit by the ranch. But the ranch was so busy doing its tempering that you could hardly taste it, as the hot sauce dominated the flavor.
It is not a super-hot one, definitely not as hot as Fiery Habanero but still pretty bold as Doritos flavor go.
