Golden Goose Sneakers Design & Style

Golden Goose has created a "complete lifestyle" brand, combining a refined and American flavor modern style with a vintage feel supported by the Italian sartorial tradition. "Golden Goose stems from our founders’ love for research, traveling, the works of art that they encountered on their journeys, vintage items and distinctive local features. Every discovery serves as inspiration and every inspiration has become a dream that has taken concrete form in our visual diary."

Designed in 2007, the Super-Stars are the first prototype to launch the saga of the sneakers with the GGDB star. This essential model has put down roots for the new approach to defining elegance thanks to its casual, classic and at the same time contemporary design. Since then, Golden Goose sneakers are constantly growing in popularity and is called the starter of the "ugly sneaker" trend by The Cut.  Each collection is tied to the feeling of experience as they aim for the vintage flavor to evoke the memories of the past like a postcard. To reminisce the memories of a rip, scratch, or mark. They currently have many styles Golden Goose sneaker to choose from.

Golden Goose Sneakers Quality

Despite their worn-in look, Golden Goose sneakers are high-quality. Each shoe is handmade, manually processed and constructed by the artisans of Golden Goose, their "Sneaker Maker".  Its products are Made in Italy, typically in the Veneto and Riviera del Brenta region, with other minor production sites around the peninsula. Surfaces are treated for the brand's “lived-in” signature style.

The handmade shoe is individually distressed by the sneaker makers who attentively details each shoe to create the vintage aesthetic and ultimately create the "perfect imperfection" with the best quality.

And their shoes are crafted from soft leather-giving wearers a luxurious experience without those new-shoe blisters.

  •  Veja Review

Veja Brand History and Origin

Veja is a French footwear and accessories brand. In Brazil, it also goes by the name of Vert. Paris-based Veja was founded in 2004 and launched its first sneaker in 2005.  The brand was immediately picked up by Parisian department stores, and now Veja is sold in 50 countries, producing 2 million shoes per year.

Since its debut, fans of the V-logo brand have included Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, Kourtney Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski - even though the company hasn’t spent a single dollar on advertising or celebrity gifting since its inception.

Veja's founders Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion meet with organic cotton farmers in North Brazil and wild rubber tappers in the Amazon (Seringueiros) to establish the production chain behind Veja in Brazil.

Veja Sneakers Design & Style

Veja trainers have been a wardrobe staple amongst the fashion set for a while now.  It has the sleek white design or the iconic "V" logo stitched on the side and comes in every color from basic black to neon yellow.  With the minimalist aesthetic,  effortless French je ne sais quoi, they're both subtle and eye-catching and can instantly elevate even the most casual of outfits.

Current popular styles include the Campo, V-12 and V-10 sneakers, which all include the signature V-logo on the midsole. Their appeal stems from their versatility as they can effortlessly pair well with leggings or jeans.

Veja also launched its running category in 2019, with the debut of Veja's first post-petroleum running shoe, the Condor. In February, Veja updated its sustainable Condor performance running shoe for the first time with the Condor 2. Most recently, the brand launched the Marlin.

Veja Sneakers Quality

Veja trainers and accessories are made of organic cotton, wild rubber from the Amazon,  vegetable-tanned leather, and recycled plastic bottles. Meanwhile, 1 out of 3 Veja models are 100% vegan. Veja sneakers are produced in high-standard factories in Brazil. Part of VEJA’s logistics is managed by Log’ins, a professional and social inclusion company.

Vejas offer great support and a well-cushioned footbed, but they're lacking in flexibility and freedom of movement due to the somewhat stiff leather exterior. Even after breaking them in, they still weren't as flexible as I prefer in a pair of walking shoes.

Are Vejas comfortable? If you have friends who have bought Vejas, one thing you've probably heard them say is how much the trainers rub when they first got them. You should be prepared to invest some time into wearing them in.

  • Common Projects Review

Brand History and Origin

American-based art director Prathan Poopat and Italian creative consultant Flavio Girolami founded  Common Projects brand after searching for a pair of premium casual shoes that would feel luxurious to wear without sacrificing any style or timeless appeal. Common Projects has since been at the forefront of luxury footwear design both independently and as a collaborative partner to other high-end fashion labels.

Common Projects Sneakers Prices: $430-$520

Common Projects Sneakers' Design & Style

Common Projects combines utilitarian design with Italian quality and construction, resulting in pieces with a sleek, minimal aesthetic. Their trainers are a cult-favourite, a must-have for the modern man.

Inspired by a plethora of casual sneakers, Common Projects was created to bridge the gap between sporting and luxury footwear with their first collection, “Achilles by Common Projects,” consisting of nothing more than a low-top leather sneaker in three color options -this model would go on to become one of their most revered silhouettes.

What is special about Common Projects? The Common Projects Achilles features its signature gold labeling across the heel portion of the upper. These 10 golden digits on the upper distinguish the model number through the first four integers, the European shoe size via the next two numbers and lastly the color code on the final four. These days, Common Projects continues to thrive by releasing revered footwear models in both men's and women's sizing.

Common Projects Quality

Common Projects footwear models are known for their clean aesthetic, classic lines and Italian craftsmanship. The use of premium materials on very simple and wearable silhouettes allowed Common Projects to carve a lane between classic sportswear and high fashion.

All of Common Projects' shoes are factory-made in the Marche region of Italy. The main factory used to manufacture the sneakers had only been used to make leather dress shoes before Common Projects owner's Poopat and Girolami took over. All shoes are made by Italian leather and remain hand-stitched. They're worth it for the price point if you like nice leather sneaker and are going to wear them all the time.

  • Conclusion

Golden Goose vs. Veja vs. Common Projects vs. Vintage Havana Sneaker: which Brand is the best?

Whichever sneaker you decide on, be it the investment of Golden Goose , Common Projects sneakers or the more budget-friendly and classic Vejas, you truly can't go wrong.

Golden Goose

If you're up for something a little more fun and edgy,  and willing to spend a little extra on a quality pair of casual shoes, I recommend Golden Goose sneakers. There is no alternative to the unique design and branding of the Golden Goose sneaks. Despite their worn-in look, Golden Goose sneakers are high-quality. They're also decently comfortable and very versatile, so you'll get a lot of wear out of them.

Veja

If you want get a pair of shoes to match any of your clothing, choose Veja. But I wouldn't recommend Veja sneakers for those who want to specifically use them for walking. You can happily wear Vejas for running errands, shopping, or general everyday life, but if you're walking miles and miles every single day, you might want to look elsewhere for a shoe that's a little heavier duty and flexible.

Common Projects

Common Projects has since been at the forefront of luxury footwear design both independently and as a collaborative partner to other high-end fashion labels. Common Projects footwear models are known for their clean aesthetic, classic lines and Italian craftsmanship. Their trainers are a cult-favourite, a must-have for the modern man. The simple, minimal look is so classic and goes with just about everything.

Vintage Havana

The Vintage Havana sneakers is that you get an affordable price shoe that looks expensive like Golden Goose without the overly distressed, dirty design. Vintage Havana designers seek out the latest looks right off the streets from all places imaginable. Their lace-up sneakers feature creative patterns with pops of color and bold contrasts.
