Loewe Brand History and Origin

Loewe (stylized as LOEWE) is a Spanish luxury fashion house specialising in leather goods, clothing, perfumes and other fashion accessories. It is LVMH's oldest luxury fashion house

Loewe was founded in 1846 in Madrid by a group of Spanish leather craftsmen, and the brand originated in 1876 when Enrique Loewe y Roessberg, a German craftsman, joined the group.

In 1905, the brand obtained a“Royal Warrant of Appointment” and became an official purveyor of leather bags to the Royal Household of Spain. With a reputation for high-quality leather craftsmanship and this royal cachet, Loewe began to emerge as a luxury fashion brand.

Joining brands like Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Christian Dior as a part of the LVMH Group in  in 1996, it is safe to say that the brand is continuing to grow. Given its provenance creating desirable luxury, Loewe is sometimes now known as,“the Spanish Hermès.”

Anderson has created collections for men and women that have been dubbed, “surreal,” “unconventional,” and “thought-provoking.” He designed the original puzzle bag in 2015, which has become one of Loewe's most recognizable designs. The refreshing style adds a fresh character to the range of classic accessories, pairing of-the-moment functionality and aesthetics with the ingenious construction and incredible softness we've come to expect of the luxury house's leather goods. Not only has the eye-catching Puzzle silhouette has become one of the brand's most recognizable, but it's really come to define the smart contemporary flair of Loewe.

By the 1970s, Celine was a bona fide international brand with numerous stores on different continents. Its first logo is a distinctive red elephant created by cartoonist Raymond Peynet.

Since November 2015, the headquarters are located at 16 rue Vivienne in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris at the Hôtel Colbert de Torcy, which has French Historic Monument classification.

Celine bags are crafted using the most luxurious materials: supple calfskin, lizard skin, shearling…all leathers are natural and unique, which is why tonal variations and veins may occur. Unless it is a canvas combination. All the Celine bags are all made fully leather. Both inside and outsides.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Brand History and Origin

Louis Vuitton, or by its initials LV, is a French fashion house and luxury goods company founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton. In 1858, Vuitton introduced his flat-topped trunks with Trianon canvas, making them lightweight and airtight. It was Vuitton's gray Trianon canvas flat trunk that allowed the ability to stack them on top of another with ease for voyages. Many other luggage makers later imitated Vuitton's style and design. In 1959 Louis Vuitton was able to re-invent their classic canvas, thanks to new technologies. A more supple version of the canvas was created, and this meant it could be used for smaller, more detailed products. The interlocking L and V with floral pattern was designed by Louis Vuitton's son, Georges Vuitton, in 1896 as a way to brand his nascent box and luggage business, and in the 120 years since, it's become one of the most recognizable marks in the world.

Being the second oldest luxury brand that is still operating today, it's no surprise that Louis Vuitton has been one of the most valuable luxury brands in the world for decades. The label's LV monogram appears on most of its products, ranging from luxury trunks and leather goods to ready-to-wear, shoes, watches, jewelry, accessories, sunglasses and books.

Louis Vuitton Bag Price on Official Site: $790 - $30,000

Louis Vuitton Bag Design & Style

As one of the most prestigious luxury brands today, French fashion house Louis Vuitton is a symbol of quality, durability and practicality, and is synonymous with style and innovation. The evolution of Louis Vuitton handbags are closely linked to the users' needs.

One of the first ever Louis Vuitton bags designed was the big travel bag;  In 1925, a dome-shaped handbag meant for personal use, rather than travel, was created specifically for Chanel. It wasn’t until 1934 that she allowed the brand to mass produce the bag for the general public. It was redesigned to be more compact and streamlined for everyday use and dubbed the Squire until it was renamed the Alma in 1955. The Keepall in 1930, followed by the smaller version the Speedy in 1932, which was Louis Vuitton's first handbag designed for everyday use. Bags like the Noé, Alma, and Papillon followed, and are still iconic to this day.

When considering investment pieces such as Louis Vuitton handbags and purses, as a rule, classic styles such as the Louis Vuitton Neverfull or the Louis Vuitton Speedy will always be in demand and maintain their value more than seasonal bags. The Keepall is  always popular - a good sports bag or weekend bag. However, keep an eye out for limited editions. For example, the limited edition show bags (produced for runway collections) are highly sought after, while exotic leathers such as crocodile, alligator, ostrich and snakeskin are the ultimate prize for any collector. The condition of the bag will also greatly affect its value.

Louis Vuitton Bag Quality

A popular fashion staple, traveling Louis Vuitton handbags can be found in wide range of designs, formats, and leathers. The Louis Vuitton Monogram lines are popular. Monogram canvas is durable, lasts a long time, and has a texture that can look similar to the grain of leather. Built to endure, the brand's coated canvas pieces can last for generations with proper storage. However, this material is simply the result of adding a strong and waterproof coating to a canvas base, which Vuitton canvas is perhaps best known for. Vuitton's use of canvas traces back to the beginnings of the brand almost 200 years ago and this waterproof coating is made exclusively by Vuitton. Introduced in 1985, Epi Leather was the first of Louis Vuitton's permanent collection of leather bags. There are also variations of the Louis Vuitton Damier, with Damier Azur introduced in 2006, followed by the Damier Graphite in 2008. Louis Vuitton continues to appeal those looking for a unique design and willing to pay for the quality of make and material.

Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta Brand History and Origin

Bottega Veneta is an Italian luxury fashion house based in Milan, Italy. It is a subsidiary of the luxury group Kering. It was founded in 1966 in Vicenza, Veneto, by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro.

Its Intrecciato leather-weaving was an instant hit. With the central tenets of discretion, quality and craftsmanship, in the '70s and '80s it built up a loyal following for its refreshingly logo-less accessories.

After experiencing a dip in sales and cachet in the '90s (when logomania truly struck), in 2001 Bottega Veneta was sold to the Gucci group, where it was revived under the helm of creative director Tomas Maier. Harking back to the brand's artisanal roots whilst adding a dash of modern-day sophistication, Maier grew Bottega into a luxury giant, also introducing ready-to-wear, fine jewellery and perfume alongside its famed accessories.

Bottega Veneta Bag Price on Official Site: $850-$20,000

Bottega Veneta Bag Design & Style

The Bottega Veneta Brand's approach to fashion is refined and understated. The fashion house earned a reputation for unsurpassed quality, its timeless style exemplified in super-soft, sensuous, unlined, handcrafted handbags. Its renowned intrecciato, or interwoven leather style, and signature animal prints made it instantly recognizable worldwide.

The most prominent part of Bottega Veneta's success are the popular bags that we have seen for the past several seasons, on every fashion lover's arm. From the Bottega Pouch Bag, to the Cassette Bag and the Jodie Bag, all of which have been among the hottest products in the industry throughout the past years.

What makes Lee's designs such a hit is how he has encapsulated the luxurious simplicity of Bottega Veneta for a new age. Dispensing with logos and flash to appeal to a customer who is self-assured, sophisticated, and confident with his or her own style. As Lee told Grazia Magazine, 'the Bottega woman is individual, it's not about “labelling” her […] I love seeing people enjoying the brand, making it their own.’ Another big, easily recognizable part of Bottega Veneta's identity is the vibrant“Bottega Green” color that has been a valuable part of the brand's past few collections.

Bottega Veneta Bag Quality

Bottega Veneta has become known for its strict adherence to long-term brand equity building, permanent reinvention of timeless design icons, extraordinary craftsmanship and materials, and contemporary functionality. Bags are made using intrecciato Nappa, baby-soft suede, waxed calf, soft crocodile, and especially lizard, python, karung, silk, and other sensual fabrics.

Bottega Veneta's weave design called intrecciato, which is still a prominent hallmark of the company.  In order to utilize delicate, supple leathers effectively, the brand opted for a woven pattern to supply its handbags with durability. Artisans weave together strands of delicate leather by which they are able to craft pieces with strength and beauty. Past creative directors have adapted this technique, showcasing its versatility through different textures and colorways. To this day under Daniel Lee, the intrecciato weave is vastly recognizable and cherished in the fashion industry, and it appears across all categories of Bottega's accessory offerings.
