2024 Best Self-Tanner: Bondi Sands vs. St.Tropez vs. Loving Tan vs. Jergens?

  • Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam - Dark

Size: 7.04 FL OZ

Suitable For: Those with an olive complexion or those who prefer a darker glow.

Review: Sand, sea and sun, the enviable Australian image. Bondi Sands is a current hot topic in the world of self tanners. It's an Australian product. Every time you use Bondi Sands dark self-tanning foam, you can experience a sun-like tan.

The smell is amazing and unlike other tanners, a great aloe vera and coconut scents that brings us straight to summer time,  just like a day spent on Bondi Beach.

Because it's a foam formula, it promises to feel incredibly lightweight and absorb quickly with little to no transfer onto white sheets and towels. You can leave it on your skin for 1 - 8 hours, depending on how dark you like your tan. The longer you leave it on the darker you get.

If you have fair skin, start by trying the light/medium, then work your way up to dark if you’d like an even deeper tan. You can always reapply for a deeper colour. Do not apply to damaged or inflamed skin.

It's also supposed to offer a dark and long-lasting tan - outlasting the 5 to 6 day time period.

  • Loving Tan 2 HR Express Mousse - Dark

Size: 120ml / 4 fl oz, 200ml / 6.7 fl oz

Suitable For: Medium to dark skin tones.

Review:

Made by tan lovers for tan lovers, Loving Tan 2HR Express Mousse gives you a natural looking, sexy tan within minutes. The salon inspired formula provides you with an immediate color, while developing into a deeper, darker tan which can be washed off after 2 hours. For best results apply to clean, dry and exfoliated skin.

The color guide technology ensures an easy, streak free application every time. It didn't dry so fast that it was difficult to rub in but it also didn't stay wet for a long time. It creates an even, natural tan, that it is easy to apply, and it dries quickly. It's both quick drying and and it smells like flowers. It gives you a red brown tan which makes it appear that you've been in the actual sun for one week. It barely transfers onto clothing and has virtually no smell.

Loving Tan's 2-hour express was more of a natural tan on olive skin tone. If you want to get a deeper darker tan, you would probably want to try the ultra dark formula.

  • JERGENS Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

Size: 7.5 fl oz

Suitable For: Anyone who wants to look a touch tanner without getting sun damage.

Review:

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer creates a color that's gradual, flawless and captivating. You'll experience natural-looking color that's streak-free, hassle-free and with break-through patent-pending technology.

Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer is unlike other self-tanners that develop noticeable results within a few hours. Instead, you see a more gradual, accumulative shift in color over the course of a week, letting you self-assuredly prepare a few days in advance for an event you'd like to look glowy at. Although it includes the DHA that gives all self-tanners their ability to give skin a golden tint, it's essentially diluted in the glycerin-packed lotion to allow you to apply it generously like a regular body lotion and not suffer the consequences you might if you applied a traditional self-tanner with semi-reckless abandon. Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for Body also contains a blend of hydrating ingredients, antioxidants, and Vitamin E, so your skin stays nourished while getting its glow on.

It's very simple to use just put on clean, dry skin as you would any other body lotion and let dry for a few minutes. You can notice color after 3 days but with continuous daily use, the color got slightly darker and richer.  Use every other day to maintain your color, otherwise it will fade in about one week.

The scent is pleasant but definitely has that self-tanner aroma. This does contain mineral oil so if you have oily or acne-prone skin, you might want to consider a different product.

  • Streak free, hassle free.

  • Super easy pump.

  • Dermatologist tested.

  • Cruelty free skin care.

  • Paraben free lotion.

  • Very cheap.

Cons:

  • Contains chemicals.

  • New formula is not good as theoriginal formula.

  • Conclusion

Bondi Sands vs. St.Tropez vs. Loving Tan vs. Jergens, which one is the best self-tanner for you?

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam

Bondi Sands drys infinitely quicker and gives a natural looking tan, compared to the St Tropez that actually seems to sit on skin  (slightly darker than St.Tropez when applied). It's longevity, realistic tan colour, and more cost effective. Bondi Sands is slightly stickier than St.Tropez so requires fast application and quick blending, scent is quite strong -  if you like coconut, not so much if you don't.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse

Since it is a mousse, the St. Tropez Self Tan Advanced Bronzing Mousse is very lightweight and easy to apply, and long lasting. It requires very little rubbing in because it melts gently and evenly into skin. It does not leave streaks on fabric and linens. It has pleasant smell, but some users say it is not that bad. It's quite expensive compared to other brands, but the result is very satisfying.

Loving Tan 2 HR Express Mousse

The Loving Tan mousse is one of the higher priced on the list. It can give you a nice dark and natural looking color with little to no smell. On the first day after showering, clothes will be stained a little. When this one starts fading, it fades a little splotchy and uneven. It's great for a dark color and quick tan.

JERGENS Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer is a lightweight, gradual self-tanner that adds a subtle glow to the skin. It subtly darkens the skin and adds a natural-looking glow. Formulated with a blend of antioxidants and vitamin E, it helps keep skin healthy-looking and nourished. It's the cheapest one in this four product.
