#1.          Green Man Gaming

1650793647688662.png

After testing and summarizing over 30 sites to buy cheap games and game keys, Green Man Gaming is our #1 pick.

So if you're wondering where is the best place to buy game keys? It's Green Man Gaming! It's cheap, well stocked, easy to browse, and safe to use.

First of all, no worries about scams here, as Green Man Gaming is an official retailer, so all games listed on it come directly from publishers and developers.

Steam games dominate the available products on Green Man Gaming, but there is also a decent selection of games for Epic and Ubisoft’s Uplay, amongst others.

It has a huge database of over 6600 games from more than 600 publishers. It includes many popular game titles but most of them are AAA games. All the games it offers are compatible with various platforms like PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, etc.

Along with games you can also purchase gift cards for your family and friends. Other items such as soundtracks, art books, season passes, game currencies and more can be bought here.

Secondly, Steam veterans will appreciate the store’s Hot Deals, which offer much deeper discounts up to 95% on popular games such as Fall of Light, Zombies On A Plane, Black Hole, Infinium Strike, etc.

We also recommend that you check out their Coming Soon section, which is always filled with delicious deals for the newest games and pre-purchases that are hard to say no to, and you are not likely to find such offers on other platforms. Low pricing is almost always its strength in the field!

Green Man Gaming is among the most sought-after brands when it comes to coupons and discount offers, with hundreds of thousands of searches for coupons each month, and you can also get its up to 5% extra cash back through extrabux.

Thirdly, Green Man Gaming has been in business for over 10 years, and their service is great. This is also evidenced by the tens of thousands of positive reviews on Trustpilot.

Their customer support team is also available 24/7 for you. It also offers a standard refund period. The store gives you the chance to get your money back within seven days of purchase, as long as you haven’t downloaded the game or revealed the key on the GMG website. However, the store’s refund policy also states that you may get 14 days instead if you live in the European Union. This is in line with the territory’s Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

The site’s layout is very clean and is easy to browse. They show costs and prices in your own local currency so you can get a better idea of the Price you are getting the game for. As for payments they support most of the Debit/Credit Cards along with PayPal. PayPal, Apple Pay, Discover, SoFort Banking, PaySafeCard, Mastercard, Visa, Union Pay, Ali Pay, etc.

It is overall a trustworthy store that works with Valve, Ubisoft, Capcom, Bethesda and more companies to offer you games at cheaper prices, and thus is well worth checking out!

#2.          CDkeys

1650793791118307.png

Our second recommended good place to buy game keys is CDkeys.

As with our #1 picks, most of the CDKeys' AAA games are less expensive than the same offerings on other sites. You’ll probably find the same games on competitors’ websites for about five to ten percent more.

The second thing we love about CDKeys is their assortment of games. Their website is so big that it will be our go-to place in case we can't find a game on Green Man Gaming.

CDKeys claims that its keys come from its “extensive network of suppliers and contacts” . That said, all the keys they sell are acquired by their own internal team, and you can be sure that this is a trustworthy company. You won’t be choosing from multiple sellers trying to find the best deal or the one with the best reviews here.

In addition to cheap game keys or digital codes, CDKeys also offers Xbox Live points and subscriptions, personal computer (PC) games, PlayStation Network cards, Wii U games, 3DS games, and top-up cards available for Steam, Google Play, iTunes, Facebook, Steam, and more. If it’s digital, CDKeys probably has it. Whether you want to buy a game for yourself or for someone else in the form of a gift card, CDKeys is one of the fastest ways to buy a game online.

It boasts of 20 years of experience with a promise of putting gamers first. CDkeys are among the best trusted and rated sites on Trustpilot and the user’s experience rating.

One of the reasons it is very popular worldwide is that it has many options for payments, which works well in most well-known countries. You can also buy your games in major global currencies from different regions in North America, Australia, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. They even accept cryptocurrencies like BitCoin and more.

Since CDKeys only sells its own products, it can offer a 7-day return period for any unredeemed keys. It’s not the longest return period you’ll get, but it’s decent and comparable to an authorized store like Green Man Gaming.

CDKeys has a Daily Deals section with product discounts up to 90%. The site usually has amazing gaming deals happening all the time. You’ll also often see $0.49 and $0.99 cents deals for triple-A games here. Once again, you can also get up to 5% cash back on purchases through the Extrabux link.

On the other hand,  the site's initial price seems to be different from Green Man Gaming or other official platforms. They always offer a discount, but the starting price is way bigger which makes its comparison a little confusing. To illustrate, while CDKeys may have a 80% discount on a certain title, the price on Green Man Gaming is lower with only 75%.

All in all, CDKeys is one of the best places to buy cheapest PC game keys with great deals and the biggest assortment of games available. So, make sure to use it along with Green Man Gaming in order to get the most advantageous deals.

#3.           Fanatical

1650793924699540.png

The third place we highly recommend buying cheap Steam keys is Fanatical.

Fanatical launched in 2012 as Bundle Stars, focusing on affordable game bundles on Steam. In 2017, the site rebranded as Fanatical and transitioned into a full-scale authorized digital retailer much like Green Man Gaming.

Given Fanatical’s history, it’s no surprise that game bundles are one of the standout features of the store. The bundles tend to be solid, with some great titles in the mix.

If surprises are your thing, there's a Very Positive Mystery Bundlethat gives you a selection of up to 10 random games, each of which has a user rating of Very Positive on Steam.

You can even build your own bundles, with the list of available games changing regularly. You can pick two games for $6.99, three for $9.99, or five for $14.99.

When it comes to separate Steam keys, Fanatical is no worse than Green Man Gaming or CDKeys. Oftentimes, their prices are way better; therefore, I highly encourage you to always check this place to buy Steam keys before making your final decision.

Check out Star Deals up to 99% off, where 1 great title at a time is available for a limited time with limited stock at a great price.

If you’re a student then you can get a 5% student discount by registering with Student Beans.

Fanatical always sources its keys from publishers and developers, so you know where they're coming from. You can sort by officially licensed publishers and developers to find games from Rockstar, SEGA, Capcom, Bethesda Softworks, SEGA, THQ Nordic, Deep Silver, Kalypso Media and more.

Fanatical offers a standard 14-day refund period for unrevealed keys and unactivated games. They also entertain refunds for redeemed games if you face unresolvable technical issues. However, be aware that not meeting system requirements or buying a game for the wrong OS don’t count as “technical issues,” according to their T&Cs.

In addition to low prices, We admire Fanatical for their approach to the customers.

From our experience of using this website to buy PC keys for about three years, we can assure you that it is completely secure and that every purchase goes well. If you're wondering how it's rated on Trustpilot, you're sure to be impressed. It turns out that Fanatical has better TrustScore than CDKeys and Green Man Gaming.

All in all, the Fanatical game retail company can be trusted and can be said to be reliable too. With a whopping 2 million satisfied customers to boast of,  scattered across almost 200 countries. Most gamers already know about Fanatical’s reputation for having great games and fantastic game bundles. You can find titles for Ubisoft, Epic Games, Steam, Origin, GOG, etc.

Comparatively to all of the websites on our list, they hold the best special events and have a lot of cool promotions that make the experience of purchasing video games very exciting and even more advantageous.

#4.          GamersGate

1650794057733181.png

GamersGate is another secure reseller which gets keys only from official distributors.

Everything on their site is reasonably priced when there is a sale. They even have some indie games available for less than a dollar, much like what you’d find on different bundle websites.

Besides the cheap prices, GamersGate also offers a broad assortment of games which includes even very rare titles such as STALKER: Call of Pripyat which I wasn’t able to find anywhere else.

GamersGate has a superb selection of video games to spark your interest. Whether you prefer to play simulator games, RPG games, or sports games this site has the game you’re after. You can purchase game keys and even gift them. GamersGate has partnered with game publishers and developers such as Atari, Electronic Arts, SEGA, Ubisoft, 2K Games, Capcom, Epic Games, THQ, and many more.

One neat thing about their site is that like G2A, they also localize their sites Interface. It might not seem like much but seeing the site (and prices of games/items) in your own language does matter and can get people to buy on your site.

GamersGate offers a loyalty program for their users called Blue Coins, which has quickly become one of the best customer loyalty programs in the industry. Gamers can earn coins by writing reviews, purchasing games, etc.

What Are Blue Coins?

Blue Coins are GamersGate’s own form of virtual currency. You can use Blue Coins to buy games in their online store.

Coins are earned by reviewing games, rating titles, or purchasing games (five percent of the total order value).

Logging in to your GamersGate account can show you how many Blue Coins you’ve accumulated.

You can use Blue Coins to pay for games on their site. That option will be grayed out if you don’t have enough Blue Coins for a particular purchase.

1 $ = 1 000 BC

IMPORTANT! Blue Coins earned will expire after 12 months if not used.

However, we have to admit that its shortcomings will be more obvious!

First of all, we don't like their website design, it's old and rarely renovated, which makes it easy to feel like the site doesn't work anymore.

Secondly, we are not very satisfied with the service to their customers.

As they stated:

In order to prevent fraudulent activities, your purchase may be put on hold for the next 24 hours.

And boy, this happens very frequently, especially if you use V-P-N, buying many games within a short period of time, having multiple accounts on the platform, or performing any other type of activity which may seem suspicious (it is very bad that even they cannot define clearly what it means).

All in all, GamersGate is also worth checking out. You can save up to 90% on selected games, which makes GamersGate a perfect alternative to Green Man Gaming.

#5.          Kinguin

1650794197411374.png

The next best place to buy game keys that we want to share with you is Kinguin.

PC gaming is becoming increasingly expensive. Unsurprisingly many gamers scour the internet to find the best deals on games and game keys, and in response secondary marketplaces like Kinguin have emerged to offer valid game codes at a fraction of the ordinary retail price. But are they entirely legit?

In fact, we have never recommended this kind of site before, because after reading many negative reviews, we were worried if it was a scam!

But when we saw a game we wanted for less than $2, while on other websites it was at least $20, we had finally decided to try this platform. And you know what? Everything went well.

Based on our experience of using this site for about a year to buy Steam keys, we thought it was worth a try. We have made 15 purchases and all of them went well.

Let's get to know it first.

Kinguin is a third-party online platform where people can buy game and software codes and other digital products at highly discounted prices.

The company entered the reseller market to provide a mainstream avenue for affordable software and digital products. However, it’s important to note that the company does not own nor directly sell software or game keys as a third-party broker. Its sole purpose is to facilitate the exchange between people who want to buy and sell software keys and programs online.

Kinguin offers a wide selection of games covering all gaming genres from multiple gaming developers. The website features over 30 game genres from multiplayer, simulations, puzzles, and so on. The games on the site are from 15 developers in total, which includes the likes of Battle.net. Epic Games, Free2Play, Steam, GOG.COM, Nintendo, and NC Soft. The codes available cover both PC games and console-based games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch.

Kinguin is not limited to just game codes. They also offer software codes, operating systems, among other digital products. The codes that stand out the most are intended for operating systems like Windows 10, like the apps Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Bitdefender Antivirus software, and so on.

How does Kinguin work?

Kinguin acquires most of its software keys from so-called “cheap markets.” These refer to countries that sell games and software for much lower prices (e.g., Russia, Singapore, Thailand). For example, a game that sells for USD 60 in the US can sell for only USD 20 in Russia. Resellers can then take advantage of the price differential by buying in bulk from cheaper markets.

However, all Kinguin codes do not come from Russia or other markets that have discounted pricing. Other Kinguin codes are sold by users who mistakenly purchase a product that they never use. Some codes also come from insiders with direct access to excess supply of codes from developers. Some codes also come from those bulk purchases or bundles that users don't need.

Generally it is pretty safe to buy from Kinguin. The platform does its best to verify the legitimacy all game codes before allowing them to be put up for sale. Importantly, Kinguin is a reputable company and does provide a decent level of customer service. If you purchase a product key that is invalid, Kinguin will refund your money.

If you're still worried, let me tell you how to avoid getting hurt in Kinguin!

Easily!

All you need to do is to make sure you’re buying a game key from a verified seller.

Firstly, take a look at whether the seller has a badge such as “Recommended Seller”, “Trusted Seller”, “Super Seller”, or “Official Publisher”.

Secondly, check their rating and number of completed deals. From our experience, they should have at least 10,000 deals and most of them must be positively rated.

Another way to keep yourself safe from being scammed is by buying keys under Kinguin “buyer protection.”

The service acts as an assurance that Kinguin will refund purchases with keys that turn out to be faulty or fake.

Even though it requires some extra costs, 10-20% from the initial game price, you can be sure that you will receive what you’ve ordered.

So, if the price of a game you are looking for is still cheaper with the“buyer protection” fee than in any other place to buy Steam keys, feel free to get it here.

All in all, Kinguin is also a great site to buy game keys, it offers one of the lowest prices on the market, and it has a big assortment of games, even those that are impossible to find anywhere else.

Still, if you want to protect yourself from a potential scam, make sure to buy games only from reputable sellers and use the “buyer protection” in case you need a 100% guarantee.

#6.          G2A

1650794291388137.png

If you are looking for a great way to buy cheap games, G2A is a great place. Similar to Kinguin, G2A is also very popular.

G2A operates like any other, probably well-known by you, marketplace – like eBay or AliExpress, just to name a few. It connects sellers with buyers. So generally, the owner of the place doesn’t sell anything, it just gives space to other parties to conduct transactions. It is not a space like any other, though. The marketplace is secure, safe and has a fraud protection system. On top of that, there is the recommendation system aimed to help buyers in dealing with issues and in choosing the proper buyer who is trustworthy.

Different types of sellers that can offer products on G2A.COM are:

  • Wholesalers

  • Online stores

  • Bundle sites

  • Individuals

  • Publishers and developers

Do you know? Today, and among the 37,000 companies that offer digital games products, it is a commendably safe place, with over 99% satisfied customers.

You can always find the best deals for gamers and geeks on G2A Marketplace. It is one of the biggest marketplaces for game CD-Keys in the world. On our site, customers can buy games for every platform, such as Steam, Uplay, Origin, and Battle.net. Aside from digital gaming keys, you can find software, subscriptions, gift cards, in-game points and currencies, and even e-learning courses on G2A.COM. G2A is also branching out to offer physical products with its newest marketplace category – G2A Electronics. There, gamers and geeks alike can find great deals on various electronics products, including gaming peripherals.

Of course, G2A is a perfectly safe place to buy games at prices much lower than elsewhere. Why are they so cheap on the marketplace? That’s because many sellers are in fact retailers or wholesalers who obtain their stock in bulk, usually at great discounts. That makes them so competitive.

More than 19 million users can’t be wrong! Especially when over 99% of them are satisfied with being G2A.COM customers.

Check the sellers’ ratings and make a wise decision. When you click on a game, you will usually see a price on the right, but check if it says “G2A Selected offer”. If it does, it’s a price from a tried and tested vendor. You can click on a seller to check their qualifications and how many keys they have sold. It is easy to distinguish the good from the bad this way.

In addition, the gateway is integrated with more than 200 global and local payment methods – you can pay in various currencies like USD, EUR, GBP and PLN, while also making it easy to compare prices!

#7.          Humble Bundle

1650794407583149.png

A great site is known for its offers on games and great bundle deals.

Humble Bundle’s signature offerings are the pay-what-you-want bundles, which work on a tiered unlock basis. Bundles usually start at $1, which gets you at least one game. The extra tier unlocks a few more games. You don’t pay a fixed price for them. You only pay what you can afford, from $1 to $1,000. Even though it is one of the smallest authorized retailers, its bundles have a lot of digital downloads and positive reviews.

Beyond the bundles, Humble Bundle also offers a subscription service called Humble Choice.

Humble Choice has been a great way for subscribers to fill out their Steam libraries and get games for cheap. For $11.99/month, five percent of which goes to charity, subscribers gain access to a monthly batch of games to keep forever. These titles range from large scale AAA titles to smaller indie games; and there is something for everyone. This month, subscribers gain access to eight different titles that they can add to their Steam library forever.

In April , This month's Humble Choice bundle contains some heavy hitting titles like Ghostrunner, as well as some lesser known titles like Chicken Police. The bigger titles are sure to provide hours of entertainment for subscribers, but the smaller titles may just be their new favorite.

Humble Bundle offers a generous 60-day refund period, with each request manually reviewed by the store’s support team. They don’t specify any other conditions that need to be met beyond being within the return period.

When you buy a PC game on Humble Bundle, you receive a code for every PC store Humble has partnered with for that game. So, depending on the game, you could get a version for the Epic Games Store, GOG, and Steam. With the exception of DRM-free games, Humble Bundle basically requires you to install games through one of these separate launchers, but it’s nice that Humble gives you a choice with which one to go with. In addition, you can manage your game keys, or give them to a friend, via your Humble account.

#8.          Eneba

1650794481245483.png

Relatively to other stores, ENEBA has the biggest stock of Steam keys and the cheapest price almost all the time.

However, this isn’t a reseller, but a third-party marketplace, much like its more well-known competitors Kinguin and G2A, providing a platform to connect game key sellers to bargain-hunting gamers.

And in addition to game developers and publishers, they also work with big game keys distributors. Eneba also has official partnerships with a handful of publishers, namely Konami, CI Games, 1c Entertainment, Daedalic Entertainment, and Team17.

The big amount of merchants on the platform creates competition which makes all of them significantly decrease the price in order to stand out. This is the reason why their price is competitive and the assortment is always filled with all kinds of games.

Game keys for Battlenet, Epic Games, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Origin, PSN, Steam, Uplay, Xbox, and others can be purchased here.

You’ll also find gift cards for Amazon, Apple iTunes, Blizzard, Google Play, Netflix, Nintendo Switch, PSN, Steam, Xbox, and others.

You can even buy Nintendo and Xbox memberships, anti-virus programs, and other software. On Eneba you can purchase game keys, or be a seller.

Eneba only charges sellers 5% commission. This is the lowest fee than any other current marketplace (G2A, Gamivo, Kinguin). That means you will find your favorite games for the lowest price on Eneba.

As a matter of fact, Eneba enforces a strict vetting process to make sure only sellers with legitimate keys make it onto their platform. The company doesn’t have any form of special protection programs for a fee in case you have problems with a game key that you purchase, unlike Kinguin, G2A, and Gamivo.

With that said, Eneba’s vast collection of titles and affordable prices has made it a popular game marketplace. But if your game is actually available on one of them and its price is almost no different, We would suggest spending a couple of cents more in order to avoid even the slightest chance that something will go wrong and you will have to waste your precious time contacting the support.

#9.          GAMIVO

1650794559233424.png

Gamivo is one of the most popular CD key stores in the market. Like G2A, it also acts as a platform for third-party marketplace that allows you to buy or sell game keys. Their Customer Protection Program assures you that only legit sellers are added on their platform.

You can purchase game keys for Battle.net, Bethesda, Epic Games, GOG, Origin, Steam, Uplay, etc.

You can also buy Amazon gift cards, Google Play gift cards, iTunes gift cards, Nintendo cd keys, Office and Windows keys, PUBG keys, Playstation Network cards, software licenses, Xbox live memberships, etc.

They also offer a VIP subscription service called GAMIVO SMART which rewards subscribers with exclusive discounts, special offers, and a dedicated 24/7 live chat support.

As for its supported currencies, Gamivo lists a handful of major ones which include USD, EUR, AUD, JPY, KRW, CAD, and GBP among others. The site supports only four languages, which are English, French, Polish, and Spanish.

Gamivo’s site is easy to use and understand. You can search for games by pre-orders, genres, popularity, new releases, and platforms. You can also look for games that are priced at under 5€ or 10€, most wanted items, best sellers, recently sold products, and other categories.

Should you go with Gamivo or Eneba? Or maybe rather try G2A and Kinguin?

From a buyer standpoint, the best marketplaces to purchase from are Gamivo and Eneba as they have lower seller fees and thus lower prices.

If the price is not your only concern as a buyer, then support probably is.

We would say that Kinguin support used to be the slowest and is now gradually improving. G2A support also takes longer to answer but not as long as Kinguin. The most off-putting thing about G2A as a buyer is money-back guarantee. In case you can’t solve the issue directly with the seller, you have the option of opening a claim. Be noted that for this you will need to file a police report.

Gamivo support replies are in the G2A range but often not helpful at all. gamivo support is well known for simply ignoring what you write or not even look at all provided screenshots.

Eneba has the best support from all mentioned and issues are solved rather quickly. Unfortunately, only G2A allows buyers and sellers to be in contact directly when trying to solve the issue.

It is worth mentioning that all the four websites we recommend are legal and safe. However, as a third-party market, there is no 100% guarantee of the final result. Fraud is rare, if you are unfortunate enough to be scammed, please contact customer support.

#10.          SCDKey

1650794668592891.png

Given the similar name, you won’t be surprised that SCDKey operates much like CDKeys, selling its own third-party keys instead of serving as a third-party marketplace.

Unlike CDKeys though, SCDKey focuses primarily on PC games for Steam, Origin, and Uplay. It has a Playstation category, however it lists only PSN and PS Plus subscriptions.  It also has listings for gift cards for sites such as Steam, iTunes, Nintendo eShop, and Flexepin.

Game selection does seem slightly limited compared to other stores, with big hitters like Cyberpunk 2077 and the new Resident Evil Village nowhere to be seen. There are still many well-known AAA titles on the site, so you’re not necessarily deprived of choice.

SCDKey has a “Plus+” subscription service that gives you a range of additional perks. There are four subscription tiers, starting with a basic $1.90/week subscription up to a $74.86/year option.

You get more perks the longer you subscribe, with the most expensive year-long subscription giving you access to the most bonuses. These include the “lowest price” for pre-order keys, a birthday present, and priority delivery for pre-order keys.

Its delivery time varies. According to its website, customers can expect their digital codes to be delivered in 10-30 minutes, although most receive theirs in 10 minutes or less. It is usually faster for returning customers.

The site also only supports a handful of currencies which include EUR, USD, JPY, KRW, AUD, CAD, BRL, RUB, GBP, TWD, and PLN.

We’d consider SCDKey to be less appealing than CDKeys because of its inferior user experience and lack of game titles. But it’s still worth checking out if you’re bargain hunting at sites like G2A.
