Corsair HS80,Corsair Virtuoso and Corsair Virtuoso XT Review

| #1 CORSAIR - HS80 RGB WIRELESS Dolby Atmos Gaming Headset

Google Users Rating: 4.4/5

The Corsair HS80 RGB wireless headset is the company's latest mid-range-to-premium headset which features all the bells and whistles that you would expect (Dolby Atmos etc.) as well as a few neat tricks of its own. Its build quality feels exceptional, and the lightweight construction means you can wear this for long sessions without the normal fatigue that can come with other gaming headsets. As for sound quality, the Corsair HS80 uses 50mm, drivers, that output 24-bit/48kHz audio over Slipstream wireless and a higher fidelity 24-bit/96kHz over a USB Type-C cable. All this means that it sounds fantastic with rich, full-body sound with well-balanced bass.  in addition, the out-of-the-box spatial audio technologies like Dolby Atmos Places the sounds of the game all around you with three-dimensional precision, so you can react faster and more accurately when gaming.

Like all gaming headsets, the HS80 has a built-in microphone aimed at giving you the ability to clearly communicate with teammates during a firefight, raid, or your next Zoom call for work. The microphone itself is advertised as “broadcast quality” and it’s easily muted and unmuted by simply flipping the mic itself up or down on the headset. The Corsair iCUE software enables precise control over your headset, with pre-tuned audio profiles, custom equalizer settings, sidetone control, and customizable RGB lighting. Except for Mac/Windows, the HS80 is also compatible with the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 , with Corsair stating that it’s also compatible with the latter’s Tempest 3D AudioTech for the highest quality audio that the console can provide. In a word,  the Corsair HS80 RGB wireless could well be one of the best gaming headsets available at this price point - a brilliant balance of comfort, sound, and features at a great price point.

Superb comfortMicrophone not removable
Excellent Hi-Res Audio + Dolby Atmos

| #2 CORSAIR Virtuoso RGB Wireless Gaming Headset

Google Users Rating: 4.1/5

Corsair's Virtuoso RGB is a fantastic headset. The premium memory foam earpads that conform to the shape of your head, along with a lightweight headband, deliver pillow-soft, long-lasting comfort, enabling you to play for hours on end. When it comes to sound quality, the 50mm neodymium driver does an excellent job of creating an incredible sound signature. The audio frequency range is also broad, from 20Hz up to 40000Hz, almost double that of most gaming headsets. The high-bandwidth Omni-directional microphone provides a wide dynamic range and superb vocal clarity rivaling that of standalone microphones, fully detachable with an RGB LED ring to indicate live or mute status. This gaming headset has support for 7.1 surround sound. It truly gives immersive gaming sessions and enhances the overall gameplay. The RGB lighting is pretty here too.

Additionally, the Corsair Virtuoso offers flawless 60 range wireless connectivity and wired connectivity to nearly all gaming pcs and consoles. The controls work effectively while iCUE works decently to adjust the audio and other preferences. The low latency 2.4GHz wireless technology offers a fast transfer of audio signals. You will not feel the delay that you get with most other wireless gaming headsets due to this low latency. If you don’t want to go wireless, the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless supports USB C and a 3.5mm jack. As a bonus, the Wired connection enables 24bit sound, giving you a rich experience. The headset is compatible with PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and even smartphones. Without a doubt,  the Corsair Virtuoso still has the edge over many headsets.

PROSCONS
Attractive designBattery life is quite lower than many competitors
Very comfortableSoundscape is treble-heavy
Great audio quality
Excellent detachable mic
Great noise cancellation
Premium RGB lighting
Excellent wireless connectivity
Can be used wired or wirelessly

| #3 CORSAIR VIRTUOSO RGB XT Wireless Dolby Atmos Gaming Headset

Google Users Rating: 4.3/5

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is an updated model of the Virtuoso SE from 2019, it not only sports all the things that made the previous model great, but also offers  Bluetooth connectivity and some new software perks thanks to an updated version of Corsair iCue. When gaming, the headset itself is comfortable to wear even though it’s somewhat bulky and kind of heavier than most headsets. The weight distribution across the headset is thankfully quite well-balanced so you can enjoy the audio quality and game comfortably. The sound quality is impeccable, with clear mids, loud bass, and unmuddied high notes in games, music, and movies.  The headset fully supports virtual surround sound standards like Dolby Atmos for Headphones, Windows Sonic, and the PlayStation 5’s 3D audio feature. Its boom mic also has an excellent recording quality.

The Virtuoso XT's best (or at least its most unique) feature involves connectivity. Firstly, it supports pretty much every modern audio connection type out of the box. You can connect via USB or 3.5 mm cable, or wireless via aptX Bluetooth (a key feature for improved wireless audio quality and making sure dialogue is synced with people's lips in TV and movies), and Corsair’s 2.4 GHz Slipstream via dongle. And a removable mic means you might actually want to use this headset while out and about. But Corsair also goes one better, letting you wirelessly connect via Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz dongle to two different devices at once. That means you can hear your PC or Mac audio while also getting notifications or listening to music on your phone or other Bluetooth devices. There are even controls for adjusting the volume of both sources separately on the right earcup. So if you can look past the eye-watering price tag, you can rest assured that the Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT is among the greatest, dominating in games and going toe to toe with audiophile headphones too.

PROSCONS
High-quality design aestheticSeriously expensive
Comfortable to wear over long periods of timeThe wireless option is not Xbox or Nintendo Switch compatible
Great sound qualityBattery life isn't great when connected to two devices
 Incredible microphone quality
Graphic EQ and presets available
The array of connectivity options: Bluetooth, USB, and 3.5 mm

Simultaneous dongle/Bluetooth connectivity lets you hear your phone and PC
Extremely versatile

Corsair HS80 vs. Corsair Virtuoso vs. Corsair Virtuoso XT: Verdict

There is no doubt that the Virtuoso XT is a flagship gaming headset from Corsair Which features Dolby surrounds sound, a great mic, four different connection types, and absolutely stellar audio quality. The headset doesn’t just deliver multiplatform compatibility and high-quality audio for gaming, but even a high-fidelity 24bit/96KHz for the ultimate music listening experience possible. It is super versatile. If you use your headset for more than just gaming, you should be very pleased with the Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT.

Of course, the Corsair HS80 is also a gaming headset that deserved to be recommended.  It might not be as feature-rich or as fancy-looking as the Corsair Virtuoso XT but what it lacks there it makes up for in comfort. It also has high-quality, high-res 96Khz/24-bit audio on PC, making it a headset to be reckoned with.

As for CORSAIR Virtuoso, I am not particularly recommended currently. It is more expensive than the Corsair, but it does not have Dolby Atmos , so relatively speaking, the price/performance ratio is not that high.
