Kings Dominion Thrill Rides & Roller Coasters List

Kings Dominion is home to a large number of thrill rides and roller coasters. The following exciting rides are highly recommended for adrenaline seekers.

Intimidator 305 was named “Best New Roller Coaster of 2010” by Amusement Today When it debuted. Not only is it the tallest, fastest and most thrilling roller coaster on the East Coast, but it reaches top speeds of 90mph!  On top of that, the ride stands 305 feet at its highest point with a first drop of 300 feet at an 85-degree angle.

New for 2018, Twisted Timbers is a hybrid coaster combining the power of a steel track and wood supports for an intense coaster experience. It features a 109-foot barrel roll drop and a top speed of 54 mph on 3,351 feet of track, including a total of three inversions and nearly 20 airtime moments.

Dominator is the world's longest floorless coaster (4,210 feet) .The vertical loop (painted yellow against the rest of the ride's deep orange) is the tallest loop in the world at 135 feet tall, and the physical sensation at the top is unparalleled.

Flight of Fear is an indoor, dark coaster themed to an Area 51-style military installation. Utilizing electromagnetic energy, Flight of Fear catapults riders from zero to 54 mph in just four seconds. The layout for this roller coaster includes four inversions, all while riding in complete darkness.

Previously called Rebel Yell, its name changed for 2018.  Racer 75 is a twin racing wooden coaster. It sends thrill-seekers over twelve hills at speeds of up to 55 miles-per-hour.

Backlot Stunt Coaster is a high-speed stunt car adventure that combines Hollywood special effects with high tech coaster thrills. . This distinctly-cinematic family coaster sets guests on a blazing journey through the finale of The Italian Job motion picture, pursued by police, whizzing under highway signs, and facing off with a menacing helicopter.

Delirium is a swinging pendulum that holds 40 riders shoulder to shoulder in a large circle facing outward. Riders soar as high as 115 feet in the air and will be suspended at an angle of 120 degrees at the ride’s peak.

Drop Tower is the world's tallest gyro drop (alongside its sister at Kings Island). It provides a 272-foot descent at 72 mph. This massive tower ride seats guests in a giant ring that slowly revolves on its way up the tower before rocketing back to earth from over 300 feet high.

Windseeker is a  301-foot-tall wave swinger attraction. Riders are seated in two-person swings with their feet dangling. The swings slowly begin rotating as they ascend the tower. At the top, the swings will reach speeds between 25-30 mph, flaring out 45 degrees from the tower.

Berserker swings back and forth in a pendulum motion, gaining speed and altitude with each cycle. Eventually it reaches the top of the 360-degree loop and pauses, suspending riders upside down for a breathless moment before completing its rotation.

The park has also a number of family rides and for kids. For the bigger children, they can take their first coaster rides on the Great Pumpkin Coaster or Woodstock’s Express.

For the smaller kids, the 14-acre children’s area, Planet Snoopy features 20 family rides, numerous kids activities, live entertainment and more.

They can take a lap on the PEANUTS 500, bounce up and catch Charlie Brown’s kite in the Kite Eating Tree or take flight on Sally’s Sea Plane.

In Addition, Kings Dominion also has a 20-acre water park Soak City(open seasonally). It features 14 water slides, two wave pools, rushing rivers, relaxing lagoons and kids' play areas.

You can hang out in the lazy river or splash around in the Tidal Wave Bay or go for a spin on the Tornado, a unique 65-foot water slide.
