It's not a very moisturizing formula to begin with, and depending on the current condition of your lips, you may find it to be drying especially towards the end of wear. Some shades are more drying than others, but typically they don't get drying until after five to six hours of wear. Those liquid lipsticks that are going to show up differently on people depending on their skin tones, undertones, pigmentation in their lips etc.

Kat Von D Beloved

($12.50 at eBay + 1% Cash Back)

Beloved  is described as a "soft coral".  It looks more of a very light and bright pinky coral shade with a pastel tone to it. The texture was lightweight, easily spread across the lips, and yielded opaque, even coverage. The pigmentation is beautiful; provides good opaque coverage in one swipe. It's easy to build it up in layers, but I wouldn't recommend putting on more than 1-2 coats as it can feel drying. This liquid lipstick feels like nothing on the lips. The coral is soft enough that you are not afraid to wear it out in public. The color wore well for seven hours before noticeably fading and was slightly drying after six hours.

Berlin is described as a "warm rose".  It's a vibrant, medium-dark pink-red with warm undertones and an ultra-matte finish. The texture is lightweight and creamy liquidy. It goes on smoothly and sets fairly quickly to a totally matte finish. Kat Von D  Bachelorette

($20 at  Sephora+ 4% Cash Back)

Bachelorette is described as a "dark reddish fuchsia". It's a brightened, medium-dark pinky-red with warm undertones and a matte finish. It's absolutely opaque in single layer and no need to apply it back and forth, it is gorgeously pigmented and covers every bit of corner with single swipe. It had excellent pigmentation that went on really smoothly and evenly, making it an easy shade to apply and work with. The color felt a little drying after six and a half hours of wear. Everything is just so perfect about this shade which will suit all skin tones.

Kat Von D  Sanctuary

($20 at  Sephora+ 4% Cash Back)

Sanctuary is described as a cool Sepia/nude coffee. It's more of a brown/mauve color with these purple, gray undertones to it.  The formula is very comfortable on the lips. The finish is absolute matte and the texture is comfortable on lips not runny so you can work easily, most of the times liquid lipsticks takes all the moisture from lips but these are very nice if you have well hydrated lips. It stays nicely for 5- 6 hrs without any issue.

Kat Von D Mother

($20 at  Kat Von D + 6% Cash Back)

Mother is described as a dusty mauve pink, but it looks more like an everyday wearable medium pink shade. There is a hint of blue undertone to this pink shade, which could be the reason it looks a little on the cooler side. This liquid lipstick is not too thick, not too thin. It is definitely creamier. The formula of this shade is on the thicker side, but it applies evenly, without any issues. The coverage is almost completely opaque.

Kat Von D  Malice

($20 at  Kat Von D + 6% Cash Back)

Malice is a bright, medium-dark orange with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, but it wasn't fully opaque in one layer. The texture was slightly thicker than average for the brand but spread evenly across the lips. It seemed to take longer to dry down, and it was a little tacky for longer, so I had a bit of color lift unexpectedly. This particular shade highlighted the lines on lips after drying down. It wear well for seven hours and was non-drying but faded more strongly from the center first.
