Day 1, Depart from your UK airport and fly overnight to China.

Day 2, Land in China’s cultural and historic powerhouse. Fall headfirst into Beijing’s fascinating past by going straight to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. That evening, watch the sunset over the Imperial Gardens.

Day 3, It’s time for China’s most dramatic attraction – the Great Wall, where our guide will take you to the Huanghuacheng section, which is hidden away from the crowds and awash with wildflowers in spring. After lunch, immerse yourself in the prettiness of the Summer Palace.

Day 4, Hop on a bullet train to the the ancient city of Xi’An. Watch a Tang Dynasty masked show, followed by a dumpling dinner.

Day 5, The world-famous Terracotta Warriors date back to 200BC and are a sight not to be missed – let your guide teach you their extraordinary history, and take you on a tourist-free tour of the ancient city. 

Day 6, Spend the morning practicing your Tai’Chi before getting on a five-hour bullet train to Chengdu and enjoying a mask-changing show and Sichuan dinner.

Day 7, Doted upon, inquisitive and enticingly plump, the pandas of Chengdu loll about like mini emperors in their bamboo enclosures. Head straight to the Dujiangyan Panda Base with your guide to observe these special creatures in this wonderful protected environment – then have lunch of your own in Chengdu.
